We are an Internet focused early stage venture capital firm currently investing out of two geographically dedicated Funds: BV Capital III in North America and eVenture I in Europe, both managed by one team with the same incentives across both Funds. Backing Internet entrepreneurs, we frequently are the first institutional investor in companies creating highly scalable services and significant value propositions for their users.

We have been investing in Internet companies for almost 15 years. Previously we were involved in building and operating online companies, always at the cross section of media and the Internet and geographically in both Europe and the US. As a result we leverage an extensive network of media and technology industry connections to help our portfolio companies gain visibility, build critical strategic relationships, hire excellent teams and successfully bring their products to market.

Our culture is to be a sparring partner to our portfolio companies, continuously supporting but also sometimes challenging you. There will not be any “big ego’s” from us on your board and we don’t see our role in interfering with day-to-day activities. We also want to truly operate as a team using all our relationships and operational expertise independent of who of us led an investment. Ultimately we would like you to see us as an addition of new players to your team.

Building a highly scalable Internet company today can be achieved with very efficient deployment of capital. Depending on the capital needs of your company we therefore have the flexibility to make small investments and do not have predisposed equity needs.

We also believe that given today’s capital efficiencies tomorrow’s leading Internet companies can be found in many different places and we therefore cover a wide array of geographies. Investing out of two geographically dedicated funds, we currently have a presence in North America as well as in Western and Eastern Europe.

With eVenture Fonds I we cover investments throughout the whole of Europe, including the emerging markets Russia and the Ukraine. The fund has an early-stage focus, and is backed by its anchor investor Otto Group, one of the world’s largest eCommerce retailers. While acting completely independent of the Otto Group, Otto’s diverse network of retail, financial services, wholesale and service offerings make them a strong potential partner for our portfolio companies.

With BV Capital Fund III we primarily invest in companies in North America. The team has invested in early pioneers such as AOL, shopping.com, gotomypc and eGroups as well as today’s market leaders such as Angie’s List, Sonos and Yume Networks. We typically like to come in as a first venture investor and are able to make small investments if the company doesn’t have significant capital needs.
